Message from the new president of IAP2M
Since its inception in 2005, this institute has conducted research, under its guiding key phrase “Japan-original program management”, into the interdisciplinary science of project management that covers all phases of a project, from design, investment, organization, execution, and maintenance to evaluation.
In the initial stage, we studied ways of solving issues that arise when the standard project management method is applied to Japanese enterprises. Next, we addressed management for value creating innovatio n applicable to both for-profit enterprises and nonprofit organizations.
Today, information available on the Internet and digital technologies, such as IoT and AI, are changing how society and industry are structured. The government needs to urgently support the development of new social systems to cope with the declining birthrate and aging society. Enterprises must come to terms with the Sustainable Development Goals, which are the blueprint for achieving a better and more sustainable future for all. It is essential to address the needs of the present age and aim at global optimization and global harmony by integrating knowledge and wisdom across the boundaries of professional fields.
This institute provides a “forum” where scholars, researchers, and practitioners can exchange their specialized knowledge and wisdom so that solutions may be found for the problems besetting modern society. I sincerely ask for your continued participation in and support for the institute’s activities.
